Chopta~



Chopta ~  is a small region of meadows ,a beautiful hill station with evergreen forest area which is a part of kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state, India and a  base for trekking to Tungnath, third temple of Panch Kedar. Chopta is an unspoiled natural destination lying in the lap of the Uttarakhand Himalayas and offers views of the imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. It is located at an elevation of 2,680 metres (8,790 ft) above sea level. Chopta village is surrounded by forests of pine, deodar and rhododendron and is rich in flora and fauna include rare species of birds and musk deer.

TUNGNATH 


Tungnath


Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tunganath (literal meaning: Lord of the peaks) mountains form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. Located at an altitude of 3,680 m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila, Tungnath temple is the highest Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is the third (Tritiya Kedar) in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars The chopta tungnath trek is one of the easier treks in the Himalayan region.The peaks of  Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth and Kedarnath are all clear during the course of the trek and make for a majestic sight. The major attractions of this trek are the Tungnath Temple and the Chandrashila peak which provides a breathtaking 360 degree view of the valleys below.

CHANDRASHILA 




Chandrashila ~  is summit of the Tungnath . It literally means "Moon Rock". It is located at a height of about 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) above sea level. This peak provides a spectacular view of Himalayas,especially NandadeviTrisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba peaks. Chandrashila offers a panoramic 360 degree view of the some of the very majestic Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Bandarpunch, Chaukhamba and Kedar Peak. Chandrashila is a steep 1 km trek from Tungnath temple which is a 3km trek from Chopta. Chandrashila and Tungnath are covered with snow during the winters.

According to one of the popular legend, Chandrashila is the place where Lord Rama meditated after defeating Ravana. Another legend says that moon-god “Chandra” spent time here in penance. Chandrashila literally means “Moon Rock”. A temple dedicated to goddess Ganga is situated atop Chadrashila.
DEORIYATAL 


An easy 2 kms trek with rocky path from Sari village will bring you to the enchanting site of Deoriya Tal. Sari Village is located on Ukhimath - Gopeshwar road,Deoriya Tal or Devariyatal is a lake at high elevation of 2438 meters surrounded by Rhododendron and Oak forests of Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary.This lake has captivating surroundings with forests all around. The reflection of the mighty Chaukhamba peak in the lake creates beautiful effect. 


RISHIKESH



Located near the foothills of the Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttrakhand, Rishikesh is the7th largest city in India. It is also called as the  'Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas'and 'Yoga Capital of the World'. It is known as the pilgrimage town and regarded as one of the holiest places to Hindus. Hindu sages and saints have visited Rishikesh since ancient times to meditate in search of higher knowledge. As tourists from all over the world are attracted to Rishikesh for yoga, rafting, and traveling, Rishikesh has become an international attraction.
